In Billie’s early life she had a very difficult childhood like many musicians that makes music become their passion. Holiday bounced from home to home since her mother was always working and a teenage mother Billie suffered from the absence of a maternal love (“Billie Holiday”).  By the age of eleven Billie had dropped out of school and worked long hours at her mother’s restaurant (“Billie Holiday”). At the age of twelve Holiday began to work at a brothel a place where many prostitutes and sex trafficking victims do their “jobs” (“Billie Holiday”).
